Andreas Christensen took part in Chelsea training yesterday and could be back to face Tottenham at the weekend, which is the biggest clash as the Premier League returns after the international break.
The central defender was with the Danish team during the international break but was sent back to the club after a slight niggle.
However, the Express reports that the 21-year-old Dane was seen at Cobham, where he was training with the rest of the team. He could take on Spurs should he pass a fitness test.
Christensen has played 36 times for us this season and has impressed on most occasions. The central defender hasn’t scored a goal for us this season but his presence against Tottenham could be a boost.
The report also goes on to claim that Thibaut Courtois was not seen during the training session. The Belgian goalkeeper was also sent back home during the international break. Courtois reportedly picked up a hamstring injury and will face a late fitness test.
We do have a replacement in Willy Caballero should Courtois not be 100% for the Tottenham game. Tottenham are currently five points ahead of us in the Premier League standings and are placed 4th in the table.
Making it to the Champions League has to be our aim and a win against our rivals should be the perfect catapult for a late charge and hopefully, a place in the Champions League next season.
