Real Madrid The Reason Behind Chelsea Superstar Rejecting Conte’s £300,000-a-week Offer – Reports

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard could be ready to leave Stamford Bridge and join Real Madrid as the Spanish side had a huge role to play in the Belgian rejecting a new contract with the Blues. The former Lille man has been one of the best players for us ever since he signed for us and even though we want to keep the winger, Don Balon (h/t The Express) claims that Hazard prefers a move to Spain and joining Los Galacticos.

The report claims that Madrid’s manager Zinedine Zidane has promised Hazard with a move to the La Liga giants but that could be made difficult should Hazard decide to sign a contract extension with the Blues. We have offered Hazard a contract extension reportedly worth £300,000-a-week but his father has now come out and stated that the winger has refused to sign the new deal.

As quoted by The Express, Thierry Hazard said:

“What I can say about Eden is that he refused an extension of contract to be able, if necessary, to follow the interest of Real. Where he would see himself well.”

The player’s father also went on to add that there has not been any contact between Hazard and Real. Thierry also said that Hazard is one of the parties of the contract extension and there would be a lot of dilly-dallying ahead of the summer transfer window.

Time For Hazard To Go?

The Belgian might have scored 10 goals for us this season but he has often been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, even when he was not playing at his best. There is no doubt that Hazard can become one of the best in the world but he just seems to be one or two notches below his potential, something that really needs to be worked on.

The 26-year-old signing a new contract now would certainly make it tough for any club to sign him up and maybe we need to offer him a bigger pay package and also a large release clause, should Madrid want to sign him up.

We saw how Neymar was bought by PSG even though he had a huge release clause and we might just have to incorporate such a clause when we offer Hazard the next contract.

It does seem possible that the winger would leave us but hopefully, we can hold on to him for another year or two before we can earn the big bucks from his sale.
