Isak’s transfer saga has been circulating for some time already as a number of European giants have shown interest in the 17-year-old. Not many clubs do reject offers from Real Madrid yet the Swedish club did as the Spanish outfit offered €8 million shorter than their asking price of €15 million.
It has been the in-thing among big clubs, racing against each other to secure the services of young talents with potentials to develop into a world-class star. In the previous month, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus were constantly linked with Isak, yet the west London club remained in a pole-position. To a certain extent, it will keep Chelsea invigorated about their dominance and the positive vibes could easily flicker into a deal between the clubs anytime soon.
The 6′ 3″ striker is dubbed as the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ and his impressive stats are favouring the nickname. The Solna-born forward has found the back of the net 10 times in 24 appearances, highlighting his clinical nature. Despite usually starting at the heart of the frontline, he has the ability to drive inwards from the flanks, using his pace and brilliant ball control, and towering height to aid in aerial situations. Attributes that are tailor-made to be a part of England’s top flight.
The same source adds that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and London rival West Ham United are keeping tabs on the Sweden under-21 international. The former would certainly pose a stronger competition in terms of money and fame. Yet, The Hammers could influence the youngster with additional playing minutes.
Speaking of a quicker path to the first team action and aptitude of grooming young players, Chelsea may have a threat in signing Isak if Arsenal joins the race. Wenger is known for being on the front foot for capturing young talents, perhaps a late pounce is on cards.
No doubt, Isak would be a great addition for the future but the Blues are already gifted with a compendium of starlets. Lucas Piazon, Dominic Solanke and summer signing Michy Batshuayi are some of the best talents in Chelsea’s attacking ranks at the moment, and they have been biding their time to fit into Conte’s plan.
It is believed that Real Madrid have not given up and will return with an improved bid in January to force a move through. Scrutinizing the additions that the Spanish giants have made in recent transfer windows, the club’s philosophy revolves around securing tender talents too. Despite AIK turning down Madrid’s initial bid, the Swede might be tempted to play alongside Martin Odegaard, another young talent snapped by Perez recently yet even the Norwegian has struggled to prove his worth.
It’s pretty interesting to see how far the big guns will go with an eye on the future, looking at what the Alexander Isak could offer. With the transfer window less than 3 weeks away, it wouldn’t be a surprise if more clubs are flocking in to tie a deal with the youngster.
