Strongest Possible Chelsea XI Fitting In All The New Signings

Antonio Conte couldn’t have imagined a better start to his Chelsea career when he took up the job offer, with three wins out of three, things are looking on the up at Stamford Bridge currently. The expectations will be high from the Italian manager this season, following a disastrous last season, where Chelsea finished 10th on the table. The Blues have been fairly successful this transfer window bringing in the likes of N’Golo Kante, Michy Batshuayi, Marcos Alonso and David Luiz.

With so many superstars in the squad, Conte is likely to have a selection headache, although it’s something he prefers surely. With Luiz arriving on deadline day, Conte has a chance to try out three-man defense line, something that he made famous during his time with Juventus and the Italian national team. Here we predict Chelsea’s starting XI for the coming months.

Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois

Courtois was a bit disappointing last season but still remains the number one goalkeeper at Chelsea. The Belgian was a rock between the sticks in the 2014-2015 title winning season, therefore deserves a lengthy run in the team.

Defenders: César Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Alonso

The arrival of Alonso and Luiz on deadline day might prompt Conte to change things around a bit in the defense line, giving it the much-needed balance. Ivanovic struggled for much of last season, therefore we might see new arrival Alonso coming in at left-back, with Spanish international Azpilicueta moving to his preferred right-back spot. Conte was short of central defenders previously but with Luiz coming in, he can afford to give either Cahill or Terry some rest. Our guess is that he might start with Luiz and Cahill in the centre, with Terry to provide more back-up from the bench.

Midfielders: Matic, Kante, Hazard, Willian and Oscar

Matic seems to get over the rut that he was stuck in last season. He has been much solid this season alongside summer signing N’Golo Kante. The former Leicester City player is a powerhouse in the centre and a huge asset to any team that he plays for. Oscar is most likely to continue in that number 10 role, given that Fabregas is currently struggling for form. Rejuvenated Eden Hazard will start on the left wing, with Willian on the right. The Brazilian international will be looking to carry on from where he left off last season.

Striker: Diego Costa

Costa is looking much sharper this season, he already has two goals in his kitty, both of them proving to be the match-winners at the end. Michy Batshuayi has immense potential but is unlikely to dethrone the Spaniard from the starting XI.
