The Stamford Bridge outfit, Chelsea, were chasing the Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan throughout the summer transfer window, and many reports suggested that they were inch close on getting the signature, but the deal never materialised.
With that being done, Chelsea ended up signing the Leicester City starlet N’Golo Kante, but the reports are suggesting that the team are still pursuing the versatile midfielder. Now, according to the reports from the Express Sports, Nainggolan has been in ongoing talks with Roma over a contract extension, even though Conte is an admirer.
And the 28-year-old has made himself plainly clear over his future which will disappoint the Blues boss.
“A renewal? I had already decided to stay,” Nainggolan, who has made three club appearances so far this term, said.
“I’m happy here and this thing will work itself out.
“I think we’re both on the same page, we’ll find an agreement soon.”
Nainggolan joined the Italian giants back in January 2013 on loan for a fee of €3 million, with an option to purchase 50% of his rights in the ensuing summer for €6 million. Till date, the 28-year-old Belgian has more than 100 appearances to his name and also, 13 goals.
