Chelsea are looking to sign Benfica player Victor Lindelof into the squad, however, if reports from A Bola is to be believed then the player’s current club is preparing an improved deal for Lindelof so as to fend off the interest from the Blues.
The defender turned into one of the key players for the Portuguese outfit last season which saw him claim the key role for Sweden during the European Championships, starting in all three group stages in the back line.
Reports from the Record suggest that Chelsea are considering activating the player’s release clause so as to bolster Antonio Conte’s defensive options for the next season. Although reports from A Bola now state that Benfica are preparing an improved offer which will not only increase the player’s earnings but will also raise his release clause which basically means that if Lindelof does sign the new agreement with Benfica then the a move to the Stamford Bridge gets completely ruled out.
