Top 4 Predictions: Can Chelsea And Conte Make The Cut Next Season?

With Antonio Conte coming to Chelsea, almost every fan is hoping to see their side back on track and the phrase ‘back on track’ refers to challenging for the title. Well, it is hard to comment anything about the title pursuit, but we’re pretty sure that Conte is the perfect man to make Chelsea a top four contenders.

Conte has excelled a masterclass in the ongoing European Championship, as his side trashed the defending champions Spain with an utter humiliation. Now they will be facing their toughest competitor, i.e, Germany. The World Champions will be hoping to get better of the aging Italian side, who are currently facing a major injury crisis as Candreva and De Rossi are both out injured and Thiago Motta has been suspended for the game. The game will be a clash of titans and that will surely reflect the Antonio Conte’s composure of dealing with the pressure.

It is safe to say that the next game for Italy is somehow similar to what Conte will be facing the problems at the Stamford Bridge. Yes, there are no injuries, but with players getting out of form, it is equivalent to that. The underlying task of the Italian manager at the Bridge would be keeping the star names into the squad. With no European football, some names might demand a transfer request.

The London side had a horrific season last term and were unarguably one of the worst titles defenders in the history of the Premier League. The Dutch interim did bought the stability, but that was not enough to finish the season on a high note. But with no European nights to play for, the new manager will have all the time in the world to concentrate on the Premier League. It is obvious that we cannot expect the positive results right from the beginning, but we’re pretty sure that eventually, Conte will do what he is known for.

It is clearly understood that the Blues need new faces into the squad, and as Conte is known for his ‘Three at the Back’ formation, a solid defender is a sole necessity. Chelsea have Cahill and Zouma, but besides them, they cannot rely on anyone as Terry lacks speed and Ivanovic is losing his roughness. A firm defender will do everything good for the side.

Besides that, the central midfield area is one of the most important part of the game, central midfielders set the tempo of the game and drives the team forward and with Cesc Fabregas in the side, they are all good there, but the manager will have to work on the Defensive midfield role, as Matic is rumoured to be leaving the side and besides that, he is losing his form heavily.

The wings are one of the strongest points in the Chelsea squad as they have Hazard, who had a tough start, but came back to his form and a performance against Hungary was a sheer example of that. Willian, on the other hand, is unarguably a precious possession of the side. We personally think that Conte will have to work on the striking area as Falcao and Pato will be going back to their parent club, Remy might not play a major role for Conte, and therefore, counting in Costa for the entire season might not be the best idea.

Buying an attacking midfielder and a striker to complement Costa will do all good for Chelsea, and after this, Chelsea will surely get going for the top 4 finish.
