Chelsea striker Diego Costa is set to stay at Chelsea for the next season as according to reports. The player has no plans to leave the Stamford Bridge this summer as earlier reports suggested that the player may want to leave the Blues and head back to his former club Atletico Madrid.
Reports in Spain on Monday stated that the player has handed a transfer request in order to force a move to Atletico Madrid. However, recent reports seem to contradict the same. Costa has struggled to settle in London and has looked to return to his former side over the past two years. However, as Standard Sport revealed in March, new coach Antonio Conte wants the Spain international to stay and he is prepared to keep leading the line for Chelsea.
Alvaro Morata is unsure of his position at Real Madrid, the player who is a target for Chelsea is desperate to clarify his role at the Bernabeu. Chelsea, however, are still rooting to sign the player and have gotten a £50m bid rejected by the club for the player.
Any deal which would see the player move to Chelsea will need a full backing of the finances as well as Real’s willingness to let the player go.
Morata scored seven goals and provided eight assists to his team-mates for Juventus last season, earning himself a return to Madrid. The Spanish international also impressed at Euro 2016, scoring three times before his country were eliminated by Italy in the last 16.
