Ever since Jose Mourinho walked through the door at Old Trafford the Blues’ fans felt a little sting in their hearts. It is not often that you see your favorite manager join a rival.
In order to counter that Chelsea has now placed a bid for a Manchester Untied target Andre Gomes. Sky Sports report that the Blues have placed a bid of £32 million for the player and while the initial bid has been rejected the club is working on an improved offer for the player. Gomes’ current contract runs till 2020 and with lack of Champions League or any European football for that matter, the club may find it difficult to pry him away from Spain.
The impressive midfielder has made 41 appearances last season and scored 4 goals in the process. Chelsea’s current midfielder Nemanja Matic’s future is in doubt as reports suggest that the Serbian is keen to join hands with Jose Mourinho. This has caused all the more reason for Conte to sign a solid midfielder.
