Forget Griezmann: Here Are Three Super Alternatives Chelsea Should Look To Sign Including This Napoli Duo

Chelsea’s attacking target Antoine Griezmann has now signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid and the means that the London club can no longer sign the Frenchman. This has to be the wakeup call for the board as the club hasn’t signed a single player yet. It is obvious that the club needs reinforcement in many areas and one of those many positions is the attacking one.

Chelsea have Diego Costa as a priority man, but besides him, they do not have a concrete personality. Yes, they have Loic Remy, but the Frenchman has not been able to replicate his QPR form since joining the Blues. And now it is reported that he might consider leaving the club with Turkish side Fenerbahce the favourites to sign him.

Atletico Madrid’s  striker was heavily linked with a move to the Bridge, but the Frenchman ended every speculation as he signed a new deal with the club. Now, with Griezmann gone, Chelsea will have to look for some alternatives and will have to work fast. Here we give you 3 alternatives for Antoine Griezmann that Chelsea could consider.

1. Christian Benteke-

The former Aston Villa man is currently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and to be perfectly honest, this move might help the player as well as the team to revive themselves and start the next season as a fresh beginning. The 25-year-old Belgian faced a horror show at Anfield last season, where his appearances were limited and the main reason behind that was his poor form.

Even though he had a poor campaign, he managed to score 9 goals in his 29 appearances (majority of which came as a substitute) for the side. He is still young and has his entire career to look forward. He might work wonders under Antonio Conte and could complement Diego Costa at front.

2. Gonzalo Higuain-

There is still a possibility that Chelsea could sign this prolific Argentine striker. The London club hasn’t made any official move yet, but if they tend to get a perfect centre forward, then Higuian is the best option in the sport. He spent a great season with Napoli last year and scored 38 goals in 42 appearances for the side in all competitions.

His arrival in the club will surely change the entire course of the team as Higuain will provide a completely different dimension to the side. Imagine what kind of damage will Chelsea do if they line up their squad with Hazard, Willian, Costa and Higuain.

3. Lorenzo Insigne-

This surely is a strange name in the list, but the 25-year-old has a great potential. He is quick and is a great striker of the ball. He is one of the most versatile players on the field and can be used as a striker, as a winger and as an attacking midfielder. Currently playing with Naploi, Insigne scored 13 goals last term in his 37 appearances and was one of the most important figure for the side.

His movement on and off the ball is just like Griezmann and is also an absolute threat when the team is on the counter. Rather than being a prolific striker, he prefers to be more of a playmaker and that attribute can be very advantageous for the London club in the coming years.
