Chelsea have been strongly linked with Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos in the recent weeks and now the player has disclosed that he is in discussion with PSG regarding his future at Parc des Princes.
The 22 year old player has three years left on his contract but has grown impatient due to lack of first team opportunity in Paris. Presence of David Luiz and Thiago Silva has meant that the player is limited to a few starting roles at the club and wants his future sorted out before deciding on his future.
Chelsea are looking for a long term replacement for John Terry as the veteran defender was whisked away from leaving the club before renewing the contract for another one year. Marquinhos is one of the finest defenders in Europe and the Brazilian will likely choose to move away from PSG if he is not assured a first team spot.
In an interview the player said, “There is always speculation and I have a contract with PSG until 2019, but my situation is in discussion”
