Diego Costa’s Chelsea future has come under a shadow of cloud again as reports have emerged that the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has not given up on the chase for the Spain international.
According to the Mirror, Atletico Madrid has promised Simeone that he will have enough financial support to buy the players of his liking in the summer transfer window. The Argentine manager is keen on resigning Diego Costa, with whom he has won the La Liga two seasons ago. After reaching the Champions League final in two out of three years, Simeone is desperate to sign some quality to his side so that the team can win the prestigious competition.
Last season Costa struggled for form and scored just 12 goals in all competition. That has resulted in Chelsea finish 10th on the table and miss out on all European action. However, he has been assured a place in Antonio Conte’s side and now probably the decision lies with him if he wants to play under Conte or Simeone.
