Chelsea are seriously preparing for an overhaul this summer and if the reports from the Sun are to be believed, then Chelsea’s search for a goalkeeper has landed their sights on Egyptian player Ahmed EL-Shenawy.
El-Shenawy will cost the Blues around £3million and will be a good addition to the squad after the first choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois missed number of matches due to injury and the backup goalkeeper Asmir Begovic struggled to keep clean sheets making seven in 23 starts of all the season.
El-Shenawy had an excellent first season at Zamalek SC during 2015-2016 campaign putting up best defense in the Egyptian Premier League further winning the Egyptian cup. The player has also been capped 26 times for Egypt and was the NO.2 goalkeeper after the team captain Essam EL-Hadary during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The 25 year old was also a member of Egypt’s 2012 Summer Olympics.
