Christian Benteke is reportedly moving out of the Anfield this summer and his most probable destination is set to be the Stamford Bridge.
The reports regarding the same have been flying about for some time now; however, there is a slight change in the what was earlier reported. Last few days we heard that Chelsea want to sign Benteke as a back-up player in their squad, however, reports from Liverpool Echo claims that the Blues are looking out to add the player in the first team as a partner to Diego Costa next season.
Chelsea’s incoming manager Antonio Conte is looking to pair Benteke and Costa in the first team so as to make his front line more versatile.
Benteke did not have a good season at the Anfield, not fitting into manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the team and often starting on the bench. Further Liverpool’s reported interest on Lewandowski and Higuain too will set the Belgian player lower in the pecking order. Thus, seems like Benteke’s move out of the Reds is inevitable this summer.
