With a torrid season coming to an end for Chelsea FC many of the players are expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer and one of them was suspected to be Mikel. The player, 29 years old, has attracted interest from Turkish side Fenerbache.
There also has been report from the Sun that Galatasaray is also interested in the player’s signature and given the competition from local rival the Turkish clubs are willing to offer around £110,000 a week to Mikel.
While the offer is tempting in a shocking revelation the player has rejected the offer and has decided to stay at Chelsea instead. His current contract at Chelsea runs till 2017 and he believes that he has enough time to impress Antonio Conte and be part of his plan. Conte will arrive after Euro 2016 and will take charge of Chelsea. He is also expected to bring about a lot of personnel changes in the team and Mikel could be one of them.
