Why Conte And This Ideal Replacement For John Terry Can Form A Lethal Partnership At Chelsea

With the season coming to an end in two months and the summer transfer period approaching fast, rumours are coming thick and fast in the direction of Chelsea Football Club. Many players are linked with the Club but only some of it have some truth in them.

Hiring a new manager guarantees a host of new faces in the squad and with it is being strongly believed that Antonio Conte will take up the hotseat at Stamford Bridge, one rumour that has caught the eye in recent days is the name of Mats Hummels.

Borussia Dortmund captain is the subject of many rumours these days and has been linked with a move to the Premier League with a host of clubs like Man City and Liverpool linked to the centre back along with Chelsea. The world cup winner has only one year left on his contract, but Dortmund are asking for a bid exceeding £30 million.

The 27 year old is one of the best centre backs in Europe and if the deal goes through and the German comes to Stamford Bridge, it will be a dream come for all the fans. Even though he is a typical centre back who is good in air and also at tackling, he is good in passing too. One of his best traits is his range of passing and starting the play from the back.

Hummels can be a perfect replacement for John Terry and if he arrives will become the best defender to play in England. Conte is known for his strong defenders and has developed many centre backs in his career. Bonucci became one of the best defender in Europe all because of his progress under Antonio Conte.

Though it is a distant dream, the transfer can happen because of the might of wealth which is in abundance at Chelsea. Hummels’ arrival can make the fans delighted after a horrendous season, and can become the springboard for the revival under the new manager.
