4 Goals And 5 Assists This Season: Why Chelsea Will Be Better Off Without This Columbian Super Dribbler

published :

With the season coming to an end with less than ten games to go, all the attention will be shifted to the new manager and all the new faces he will bring at Stamford Bridge. Along with that, the players that have been sent on loan needs to be taken a look at ahead of the new campaign.

One name that stands out is Juan Cuadrado. The Columbian arrived at Chelsea from Fiorentina in January 2015. But he just couldn’t settle himself in the Premier League. Under Mourinho, his minutes were numbered and played very little to impress the boss or the fans alike.

It was believed that the 27-year-old will be sold in the summer leading to this season but as it stands, Cuadrado is still a Chelsea player. He joined Juventus on a season-long loan and is starting to make a name for himself for the Bianconeri.

The super dribbler has four goals and five assists to his name at Juventus and recently played 90 minutes at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich. Juventus have already expressed their desire to keep the Columbian at the Arena stadium beyond this season.

Antonio Conte, the rumoured next Chelsea boss is believed to be wanting to give Cuadrado a second chance in the squad when he arrives at the Bridge. But some reports suggest that Juventus have an option to buy after the loan deal expires. Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta is confident about signing the Columbian and has even stated that the appointment of Conte won’t change their decision to sign the 27-year-old.

As it looks, Chelsea will be better off without Juan Cuadrado in their ranks. Even if he stays, he will be a squad player at best and won’t get enough minutes under his belt. The new manager will have many other positions to strengthen and bring some big names to make Chelsea competing at the top again rather than making the squad big. It will be wise to cash in on the Columbian in the summer.
