3 Perfect Replacements For Thibaut Courtois: Featuring Barcelona And Real Madrid Shot Stoppers

With all hopes of top four gone and a place in the Europa League spots seeming unlikely, Chelsea will be out of European competitions after more than a decade. Lot of factors have made this such a disastrous season for both the players and fans alike, there will be a lot of changes in the squad at the start of summer transfer period.

Key players will look for new clubs to play in Europe, with there ought to be a huge overhaul with the arrival of a new manager. Reports are emerging stating that Real Madrid will look for a new goalkeeper to replace Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu. If Jose Mourinho comes at Man Utd, it is unlikely that he will let David De Gea leave.

Thibaut Courtois

Los Blancos then will look for Thibaut Courtois if the De Gea deal fails to go through. The attraction of playing in Spain and of playing for Real is hard any player in the world. If a right offer comes, Courtois may leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Thibaut Courtois joined the blues in 2011 before spending three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid. The Belgian joined the Chelsea squad under Jose Mourinho and has one Premier League title and one League Cup under his belt. He was one of the fan favourite and it will be disheartening for the Chelsea faithful if he leaves for Spain.

Though Chelsea have a more than able deputy to Courtois in Asmir Begovic, the Blues will look for a more big name to replace the Belgian to compete at the top once again. Let’s take a look at the replacements that can boost the squad in the new season :

1. Keylor Navas : (Real Madrid)

Chelsea should try for a player swap deal if Real Madrid comes calling for Courtois. Keylor Navas has been in fine form this season and is regarded as one of Europe’s finest goalkeepers. His talent won’t be justified on Madrid’s bench and Chelsea seems a perfect destination for the Costa Rican.

2. Marc- Andre Ter Stegen: (FC Barcelona)

The 24-year-old is the heir to Manuel Neuer for Germany but is the deputy to Claudio Bravo at FC Barcelona. Ter Stegen plays the cup competitions for the Catalan side and is reportedly not happy at Camp Nou. If Chelsea can pull this deal of, it will be a dream come true for all the blue fans. A perfect replacement for Thibaut Courtois.

3. Jack Butland: ( Stoke City)

Butland has established himself as one of the best young keepers in the Premier League. He recently signed a new long-term deal for the Potters but the prospect of playing for Chelsea will be very tough for the Englishman to turn down. Also adding an English player to the squad is always good than bringing foreign talents. Signing him will do good for the Club and the England national team too.
