England international Gary Cahill is pondering over asking to leave Chelsea due to lack of first team football. Reports suggest that the player is unhappy with the lack of game time and is worried that this will hamper his chance of joining England squad under Roy Hodgson.
Chelsea has struggled this season under Jose Mourinho and since the departure of the Portuguese manager, Cahil has hardly featured for Chelsea. The new boss Guss Hiddink seem to prefer the combination of John Terry and Kurt Zouma as the starting central defenders.
The 30-year-old moved from Bolton to Chelsea and since then he was made vice captain of England 2014. Given the current form of John Terry and Chris Smalling, it is possible that Cahill will be missing out on Euro 2016. This is the latest development after reports that several key members of the Chelsea squad may be looking for their way out in the summer.Reference:
