Cesc Fabregas Shouldn’t Be Blamed For Chelsea Move

published :

The highly likely transfer of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona to Chelsea have sent Arsenal fans into a meltdown as I have witnessed first-hand in the world of Twitter. Some claiming Fabregas have stabbed them and Arsene Wenger in the back. Others have attacked Wenger himself, calling him a ‘dithering man’ which basically means that he holds back on a move for a player for so long that someone else eventually comes in and signs that player up. As we know with Wenger, he always has a different option and a surprise up his sleeve so he must be planning something big if he has turned Cesc down.

However, that big trick won’t be the signing of Fabregas, according to Talksport, who have claimed that the Spaniard is definitely off to Chelsea. This is in the wake of Gerard Pique revealing that the former Gunners star has sealed a £30 million deal away from Barcelona. It seems as though Fabregas wasn’t wanted by Luis Enrique who is looking to revamp the entire Barca team.

Arsenal fans were quick to accuse Fabregas of betrayal, and you can see why considering Chelsea are direct rivals and both will be competing for the Premier League next season. However, it isn’t Fabregas that should be blamed for choosing to go to Chelsea. It should be Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.

They put a clause in his contract which would allow them to buy-back Fabregas for around £25 million if they wanted to. There was even rumours that Arsenal would have first refusal on him. The clauses put in by the Gunners are unclear because of all the conflicting reports. But, it does seem as though the Gunners did have an option to buy him back much cheaper than anyone else would have to pay for him. Considering his quality, it would be a no-brainer.

But, it appears that Wenger isn’t keen on the Spaniard and with Arsenal, Barcelona and most other teams in Europe not interested in him, you can’t blame him going to a team that have shown an active interest in his services. So Arsenal fans, don’t blame Fabregas, blame Wenger for not attempting to sign him.
