Bayern Munich Star Should Be Chased By Chelsea

Toni Kroos has been flirting with Premier League clubs for a couple of months now with teams like Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City falling for his charm. Chelsea are the latest club to fall victim to his stunning passing abilities and the way he takes charge of a game. The clubs should be ashamed of themselves as Kroos is already in a committed relationship with Bayern Munich, but that hasn’t stopped anyone in the past.

Kroos to Chelsea has sprung up on the Express website with a whole collection of other rumours. The German international still takes centre stage though. The future of Frank Lampard is anyone’s guess, I think he will stay and probably retire at the Blues. However, if he is to leave then Toni Kroos is his ideal replacement.

I like Kroos because if you want to see the beautiful game done well then, whatever team the 24-year-old is playing in, you’ll see it demonstrated beautifully. His array of passing abilities is one of the best in Europe as he can go short, long and eye of the needle. His vision aids this attribute as he can spot passes that most players don’t.

Lampard – who is 5/2 to join his uncle Harry Redknapp at QPR this summer, according to various football odds – has always been varied in his passing range and he also has the execution to make him one of the best at what he does. I personally think that a Nemanja Matic-Kroos double pivot could be one of the best the world has ever seen. Yes it lacks pace, but it literally has everything else you could want in a midfield duo. It’s actually quite rare to have a quick midfielder in this role anyway.

Kroos loves a tackle as well and will always put himself in the thick of the action. This makes him a versatile player. He’s played in defensive midfield, centre midfield and attacking midfield this season. So he’ll certainly provide extra depth.

I admire Kroos and his style of play. I think he’d be a perfect fit for Chelsea and as a replacement for Frank. He’s certainly worth pursuing.
