From The Opposition Corner…… Norwich

Only Southampton have conceded more than todays visitors Norwich so far, and Chelsea’s great start to the season should continue here today, if all goes to plan. However, Norwich finished well last season, and will only be written off by the foolish.

To get an insight into Norwich City, we spoke to two of their biggest supporters, Blaine Lovett and Paul Lancaster, who are on Twitter as @blainel47 and @bomberboy467 respectively.

Hi guys, there’s been a lot in the press regarding Lambert’s move to Aston Villa in the last few months, do you think this has affected your start to the season at all?

Blaine: There’s no doubt Lambert was a big loss for us and had such an influence on the side, and yes I believe it has affected the start to the season

Paul: Not for me, I believe in new man, new broom.

Your new man Hughton impressed at Birmingham last year, do you think he is the man to take you forward, and what positives can you take from the season so far?

Blaine: Hughton is a well respect manager in the business and has made us more solid defensively this season and has attracted the type of players to take the club forward, and I think this will lead to a success period at the club.
Paul: Agree, he has got the defence a lot more organized, providing Bassong is on the pitch!

Grant Holt had a great campaign last year, is he still the dangerman? Who should Chelsea be wary of in todays game?

Blaine: With Grant Holt in the side we always look like we can score as he is such a hungry player. Simeon Jackson is one to watch very quick And also on the defenders toes
Paul: If Wes Hoolahan plays, he could be the key man for us today. As for Holt, he is a bit hit and miss at the moment.

If you had to choose, which one Chelsea player would you have in the Norwich team, and why?

Blaine: Without a doubt Eden Hazard. He is an amazing, creative talent and loves to take on defenders, which is something which we lack at times
Paul: Mata or Hazard for me. Game breakers that really break open defences, and create chances whilst also putting the ball in the net, which is priceless.

5) What do you think the score will be today, and who will get the goals?

Blaine: I’ll go for 2-1 Chelsea. Torres and Hazard for you, and Holt for Norwich.
Paul: I’d say 3-1 if we’re lucky! Chelsea have an embarrassment of Riches! Pilkington will score for us if he is fit.

Thanks again for your answers guys, and we wish you all the best for the season, after today of course!
