Denmark vs Portugal (1700 GMT)
Denmark produced arguably the shock of the first round of matches, as they held on to a massive 1-0 win over the Netherlands, giving them a huge shock chance of reaching the knockout stages.
Portugal were also undone 1-0 by pre-tournament favourites Germany, and this just helps my belief that I can’t see this being a goalfest.
Portugal will need a win with their last game being against Netherlands, and they will have to rely on Cristiano Ronaldo, who always seems lost in major tournaments with his side.
Denmark won this fixture and finished above Portugal in qualifying for this tournament, which will give them lots of hope. However, I am backing them to keep it tight like they did on matchday 1, and look for the goal on the counter attack.
There has not been a 0-0 yet, and I think this fixture could end up providing it. Either way, I am backing a draw.
Prediction: Portugal 0 Denmark 0
The Dutch face the daunting task of having to avoid defeat against the high-flying Germans, or they will be sent packing early, breathing hopes to teams around the competition that had already worked out the possibilities of facing them, at some point along the way.
They scored 71 goals between them in qualifying, and the Dutch may well start with Huntelaar and Van Persie on the pitch as they look to break down a solid German back line.
The Dutch will no doubt want to keep it tight themselves, but their opponents have scored in their last 17 fixtures, which makes that task that little bit harder.
The Dutch were World Cup runners-up, and will not want to bow out this early, which is why I can see them getting a point at least from todays game, maybe even more.
Despite the goals, I am predicted a cagey affair, and I think the 1-1 is the best bet.
Prediction: Netherlands 1 (Sneijder) Germany 1 (Schweinsteiger)
