Chelsea are 4.5 shots with
bet365 to beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in normal time.
Bayern have the advantage of the game being played at the Allianz Arena to give them the opportunity to go for glory on home turf.
The Germans are 1.91 favourites with the bookmakers to claim the victory but there are plenty of reasons to believe Chelsea can upset the odds.
firstly Jupp Heynckes’ side were thrashed in the German Cup final last weekend 5-2 by Borussia Dortmund when their defensive was shocking.
Secondly, they now have the problem of having key defenders David Alaba and Holger Badstuber missing through suspension which means that Daniel van Buyten could be back in the side after four months out of action.
That’s good reading for Chelsea fans, even if Roberto Di Matteo’s side themselves have problems at the back.
Suspensions mean they will be without John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic and there are continued injury doubts over David Luiz and Gary Cahill.
But both men are positive they will be fit to make the starting XI, and Di Matteo only has victory on his mind. “This game can decide the history of our football club. It would be the first time we would win the European Champions League. That’s all that matters and all we’re thinking about and focusing on,” he said earlier this week.
The match could well be Drogba’s last game for the Blues, and he looks worth a punt to sign off in style if that’s the case.
The Ivorian has scored in three of his last four starts and looks big at 10 with
Paddy Power to net the opener.
However the bet that appeals most is backing him to score anytime during the 90 minutes.
He is sure to the king pin of the Chelsea attack, and the 4.2 on offer with
Paddy Power about him finding the back of the net looks huge.
If he puts in the puts in the performance he is capable of in these big games, then I fancy Chelsea to edge what promises to be a real tight fought affair.
2-1 is my idea of the outcome, and that scoreline can be backed at 15 with
Betfred.
