Chelsea face a tough test tonight as they face a Manchester City side playing their game in hand on league leaders and nearest rivals Manchester United.
They sit 4 points behind, so need a win tonight to remain hot on the heels going into the final stretch.
Chelsea have a chase of their own, and sit right on the tails of both Tottenham and Arsenal, who also both play tonight.
Both sides face trouble in defence, as John Terry is out for the visitors, having played 2 games in 4 days after a return from knee surgery. The hosts have skipper Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott out, although both Zabaleta and Barry have been passed fit.
Chelsea have a 100% record under Roberto Di Matteo, but this is undoubtedly their hardest test, as the home side have an incredible run of 19 straight home wins in the league, with Chelsea without a win in their last 4 away games, not scoring a goal in the last two.
Tevez’s return to the squad could be key, he scored the winner in this fixture last season, but how fit he is remains questionable.
With Arsenal away to Everton, and Tottenham is a poor spell of form, a win would be fantastic for the away side, although they will no doubt be happy with a draw.
I predict there will be goals, and with Torres’ return to form, what a stage to carry on his exploits.
Prediction: Man City 3 – 3 Chelsea
Match report will follow shortly after tonights game.
