Everton vs Chelsea – Time to forget United

It is crucial that the Blues forget about losing the three-goal lead against Manchester United, and get back to winning ways.

Tomorrow’s hosts are 13 points behind the Blues and they have had mixed run of things – they’re still in the cup and had an excellent win against Manchester City at the end of January but did draw with Wigan and Blackburn recently.

TEAM NEWS

Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel could return to the first-team this weekend, and Ashley Cole is back from suspension.

Unfortunately John Terry and Ramires will both miss out as due to knee problems.

Everton are expected to welcome Tim Cahill back after a foot injury, and the big news is that Nikica Jelavic is likely to make his Goodison Park debut.

Bad news for the Toffees is that Leon Osman, Jack Rodwell, Phil Jagielka, and Seamus Coleman are all injured.

Head-to-head

Goodison Park is not a happy hunting ground for Chelsea, the Blues have lost to Everton on their last two league visits.

If Sylvain Distin plays tomorrow then it will be his 100th appearance for the club and the recent hero Victor Anichebe is an old scholl super sub and has scored three times coming off the bench.

Whilst the United draw felt like a loss, the Blues are still unbeaten in 2012, but sadly since joining from ‘Pool Fernando Torres has now recieved more Premier League yellow cards (4) than goals scored (3).

Lamps needs just one goal short of 150 career league goals, and a brace short of 150 in the Premier League.
