Wigan vs Chelsea – Blues to win again?

Andre Villa-Boas will want to see he team perform like they did against Manchester City last Monday.

David Luiz is available is available having served his ban but Michael Essien is still out.

Fernando Torres is likely to start on the bench again after Didier Drogba impressed last time out.

Meanwhile Antolin Alcaraz is doubtful after injuring a rib, which could see Emmerson Boyce back in the starting line-up.

Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is fit again after returning from Doncaster Rovers with a back injury and is likely to be named on the bench.

Head-to-Head

Last season Chelsea hammered Wigan 6-0 at the DW stadium, both Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou scored braces.

During the double winning season of 09/10, the Blues went down 3-1 at Wigan. It was an afternoon that Chelsea fans would want to forget, not only did they lose but Petr Cech also received a second-half red card.

Betting

The odds are stacked in the Blues’ favour, the away team are 4/11, whilst Wigan are 8s and a draw is 15/4.

For over 3.5 goals you can get 11/8, whilst under 2.5 goals are 5/4.

The in-form striker Daniel Sturridge is 4s, as is Drogba. Wigan’s fit again Hugo Rodallega is 11s to find the back of the net first.
