It has recently been reported that Serbian and Juventus winger Milos Krasic is not happy at the Turin club, and is looking for an exit this January. With Chelsea looking like a winger could be needed in january, we take a look at one of Chelsea possible new year signings.
Joining the Old Lady firm int he summer of 2010, Krasic started his career at Serbian club FK Vojvodina, before joining Russian giants CSKA Moscow in 2004. Spending six years in Russia, Krasic cemented a reputation as a fast, electric winger who could score goals, as well as supply them. In the summer of 2010, a frantic attempt from a number of European elite’s saw Juventus win the race for the 27 year olds signiture.
However, having only spent a year at the Turin club, Krasic appears to be out of favour with manager Antonio Conte, putting the fuel to the fire on the wingers future. With reports suggesting both Chelsea and manchester City had bids turned away in the summer, both team’s will be on red alert to the status of the serb, with the January window a matter of weeks away.
Forget Manchester City, they have more wingers than sense dictates, and you can’t help but feel if he went there, it’d be just for a nice pay packet. So what exactly could he bring to Chelsea?
Chelsea’s attacking football has been of great stature this season, but with the full backs seemingly being the wide men to hit, and Mata and Malouda the only midfielder’s seemingly willing to get wide, Chelsea have looked like we could benefit from a out-and-out wide man, preferbly with pace. We lost Yuri Zhirkov in the summer, who would have been a great wide man to have, so someone of Krasic’s pace and ability seem’s to be a wise move.
I think I speak for all the blue’s fans when I say we’d only benefit from having the option of the wide play, that can spread the attack, as well as allow us to have the full backs for cover, which will bolster the defence and eradicate this gung-ho attitude of leaving the two center-backs left open.
Let’s hope City lay off, because as of late, it seems money talks again, and no one can match City’s stupidity in the market, and player’s seem to listen to money more than sense these day’s, Just look at Pastore. He joined PSG due to more money, even though Chelsea offered more chance of silverware.
Only time will tell.
