Fabio Capello has announced that Frank Lampard will captain England against Spain on Saturday in John Terry’s absence.
Fellow Blue, JT, will return for the Sweden game where he will take back the captain’s armband.
The England manager says Terry is innocent until proven guilty of those allegations, as he said: “I decided everything [selection-wise] before what happened.
“He will be on the bench against Spain but play against Sweden on Tuesday.
Before adding: “He is innocent until proven guilty.”
Lampard who also captained England back in February when they beat Denmark 2-1 has back his colleague and friend Terry and said that he was fine despite the allegations from Anton Ferdinand.
