John Terry’s yellow card on Saturday means that he will miss the cup match against Liverpool but Blues boss insists the caution was not deliberate.
Andre Villas-Boas has come out and denied that captain John Terry deliberately got a yellow card so he could miss the Carling Cup match against Liverpool rather than a crucial league game.
He was booked for time wasting during the 3-0 victory, after a delay surrounding a throw-in.
AVB told The Sun: “Terry got a yellow card from a throw-in. Ashley Cole was looking for the best options and couldn’t find any so Terry’s out on Tuesday.
“It wasn’t a deliberate yellow card as they’re not allowed by UEFA.
