Bruce Buck has been discussing the impact of owner Roman Abramovich on the club, and our short-term aims on the pitch.
Speaking at the Leaders in Football conference at Stamford Bridge, the Chelsea chairman was joined on stage by Stoke City owner Peter Coates, chairman and president of AS Roma, Tom Di Benedetto, and Niall Quinn, who has just stood down as Sunderland chairman to take on an international development role.
Comparing the growth Chelsea has made since 2003 with some of our rivals, referencing three league titles, three FA Cups and two Carling Cups, Buck said: ‘When Mr Abramovich first bought the club you could say we were not Manchester United, we were not Liverpool.
