Andre Villas-Boas is keen to bring in defensive replacements, a search that has led him back to Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godwin.
Ex-boss Carlo Ancelotti is though to have had a £15million bid for Godwin rejected last January, and now it is AVB’s turn. Should he want to get the 25 year-old Uruguayian’s signature then the Blues will have to pay around £20m.
Reports in The Sun, believe Chelsea are willing to sell Brazilian defender Alex, who is wanted by North London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham.
