Nicolas Anelka has been linked with move during the summer and again recently, but will he be leaving Stamford Bridge?
The Frenchman admits that come January, when the transfer window re-opens he will assess his options.
There would be options in the MLS where his old team-mate Thierry Henry currently plies his trade or a return to one of the clubs who have rich new owners such as his old club Paris Saint Germain or Malaga.
Anelka went on record via the official website:
“I am linked everywhere but when you are linked it doesn’t mean you want to leave.
“I like Chelsea and first of all wanted to stay, that’s why I am still here. I will see what happens in December and if I am still here I will see what happens in June.
“I am happy here, I like the club, everyone here, and after I will see what happens. It is not only down to me.
“I have been here almost four years now, and I am pleased with the way it has been. It could have been even better but I am still happy.”
It will be interesting to see what happens with Nico, he has been a good and patient servant at Stamford Bridge. Some fans may not like him, but he has always chipped in with more than his fair share of goals.
So what will Anelka’s future be?
