Weekend Bet: Terry to help Chelsea beat United

Chelsea look terrific value at 5 with Betfred to bring Man United back down to earth with a bang on Sunday.

United may have made a flying start to the season, but the Blues are now beginning to find their stride and have the class and strength in depth to put Ferguson’s boys in their place.

The stats suggest that United hold the upper hand, as we have only won one of our last eight meetings at old Trafford.

But stats are there to be broken and mean nothing when it comes to games of this nature.

The gaffer will have the boys fired up, and will put out a side that will be stronger and more organised than anything United have faced so far this season.

Our defence, spearheaded by John Terry, knows what is required to take care of the likes of Rooney and Ashley Young and the visitors will be taking on real men who will fight to the bitter end to grind out a result.

The signing of the excellent Raul Meireles has also brought an extra dimension to the team in terms of bite, strength and intelligence in midfield.

He will help ensure that United aren’t allowed space and time on the ball in the middle of the park.

Another plus is that we were the only English side to win –  and keep a clean sheet –  in the opening exchanges of Champions League this week and United were made to work hard to grind out a draw in Portgual against Benfica.

That was our fourth straight win under Andre Villas-Boas, who seems to have brought back pace and direct passing into the side that was sadly lacking last season.

Those attributes will be a major plus this weekend, and with United fielding a youthful back four and a goalkeeper in David De Gea who seems to be lacking in confidence the likes of Torres and Anekla could well take advantage.

However the most attractive bet in the first goalscorer market is surely John Terry at a massive looking 34.

Bet365 are offering a free In-Play bet on the match, so I have been busy scouring the markets to try and take advantage of where they are top price and this is one that stands out.

To qualify all you have to do is simply place a pre-match bet on the game, then once the action starts place another bet on any In-Play market. If your first In-Play bet loses, Bet365 will refund this stake up to the value of your largest pre-match bet.

Terry will be a major thorn in De Gea’s side at set pieces, and at 34 looks great value to pop up with a header and net the opener.

There is no doubt that it is going to be a tight game, and one goal may well seal it.

Paddy Power offer a top price 14 for a 1-0 scoreline (many firms go just 11) and that looks worth an inetrest along with a savour on 2-1 at 15 with
Bet365 and Betfred.
