Juan Mata told to attack …

Andre Villas-Boas plans to get the new-look Chelsea team to play more attacking football, and wants his team to have more of the ball and to get more shots on goal.
The Portuguese manager has made six new signings since taking over at the club, Mata could turn out to be a key member of the squad, having already impressed on his scoring debut against Norwich.
Mata told press: “He is a modern coach. I realised the first day, because the workouts are very dynamic, with constantly changing positions,”
“Also, we do everything with the ball. Chelsea’s style of play has an offensive mentality and prefers the 4-3-3 formation. FC Porto has demonstrated this style, with a team that matched well with the ball upright and quickly.
“And Chelsea want the same. You do not want the ball only to have it, because then ownership becomes a barren exercise.”
Villas-Boas will want to win some silverware this season, whilst he is expected to be given time the young coach will need to get his team playing attractive football as well as winning trophies.
