Chelsea chasing Barcelona youngster

Blues are chasing Barcelona’s star prospect Gerard Deulofeu according to talkSPORT.                                                                                                                                                                                                 
The young star is currently training at their La Masia academy, there is lot expected from the youngster and he has been likened to Lionel Messi.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
He expected to make his first appearances in the first team this season, but is being chased  by Chelsea and Arsenal as well as other big teams across Europe.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
Deulofeu has a youth contract at Barcelona and because he is only 17 he cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 18 next March, his current contract has two years to run.                                                                                                                                                                                                       
If the Blues can steal him from Barca. then it means Andre Villas-Boas has brought another talented youngster to join the club.

    This would be an excellent piece of business 'if' Neymar eventually finishes up at Barcelona. Due to the sell on clause that Barca are now insisting on for their youngsters (as with Oriol Romeu), clubs could easily find themselves as feeder clubs for Barca once the player matures and if he is playing particularly well. With their signing of Sanchez and should they get Neymar next summer, there would seem little chance of them wanting to buy Gerard Deulofeu back again.

    Let us get something clear about buy-back-clause. It is not as if whenever Barcelona wants the player they can just come in and get him. I want to believe the player will have a say in his being bought and salary will definitely have a say in the player's desire to go back. So all Chelsea needs to do to frustrate any buy back clause is simply to offer the player x2 of whatever Barcelona are willing to pay to both his agent and himself.

    From my understanding he has a minimal release clause due to his age, which would mean Barca cannot add a clause like they have with Oriol Romeu and Roma's Bojan.
