During Wednesday’s cup win over Fuham Petr Cech suffered minor concussion after clashing with Cottagers striker Orlando Sa.
The star keeper was taken off as a precaution at half-time, his replacement Ross Turnbull did very well, but the fans will want to see Cech back in the goal against the Swans.
There were worries that Cech, who fractured his skull after a nasty collision with Stephen Hunt when he was playing for Reading five years ago, could once again be sidelined for an extended period.
With number two Hilario missing, it would mean Turnbull would be the only keeper fit should Cech get injured again.
During his press conference, Villas-Boas has pleased fans by saying: “Petr has been taken for a scan at the hospital – but he is okay.”
Before adding: “He felt a bit dizzy at half-time and we decided it was better not to take a risk. I expect him to play on Saturday.”
The fans will be delighted that the injury is not as serious as it first looked.
