Slobodan Rajkovic is expected to join Hamburg, now that the young Serbian has once again failed to get a work permit even though he is now a full international.
He initially joined Chelsea in 2005 as a 16-year-old, but has yet to play in England due to work restrictions. Rajkovic, after an impressive pre-season there was hope that he would have got the permit been involved this season.
Since signing he initially stayed with OFK Beograd for two seasons, then spent three seasons on loan in Holland, where he played for FC Twente, PSV Eindhoven, and Vitesse Arnhem.
He had spent pre-season with Chelsea and boss Andre Villas-Boas was pleased with him and wanted him as part of his first-team squad.
With the news that Rajkovic’s future looks to be away from Stamford Bridge, ex-Chelsea director Frank Arnesen, is keen to bring the player to his new club Hamburg, for a fee thought to worth around £3million.
He will join up with other ex-Blues including Michael Mancienne, Gokhan Tore and Jeffrey Bruma all of whom have made the move to Germany this summer.
