Terry’s parents are Ted and Sue. His brother, Paul is a professional footballer currently with Conference National side Darlington F.C.Terry currently lives in Oxshott, Surrey. He and his wife Toni (née Poole) are the parents of twins, Georgie John and Summer Rose, born on 18 May 2006 in Westminster, London. Terry celebrated their birth when scoring for England against Hungary, when he performed a baby-rocking celebration. The couple then married at Blenheim Palace on 15 June 2007.
Early Days
Born in East London, John has been with Chelsea since the age of 14, when he was initially a medium-build midfielder. JT attended Eastbury Comprehensive School, he initially played for Senrab, a side that featured many future stars of the English game. As a boy he initially was part of West Ham United’s youth system, joining them as a midfielder in 199. He moved to Chelsea at 14, playing for the club’s youth and reserve teams, and when there was a shortage of central defenders he was moved to centre-back, the position he plays today.

International Career:
John was handed his England debut in June 2003 against Serbia and Montenegro, and was first choice for his country at Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup, taking on the captaincy under Steve McClaren following that tournament. He was Chelsea’s first homegrown player to be capped by England since Ray Wilkins in the mid 70s. Terry became Chelsea’s first England skipper of the professional age, although the armband was taken away by Fabio Capello in February 2010 following media stories about John’s private, but in March 2011 he was reappointed England captain on a full-time basis by Capello.
