Genk winger Kevin De Bruyne is unhappy that Chelsea’s £6 million bid has been rejected by the club and hopes a deal can still be done.
Having seen fellow countrymen Thibaut Courtois and Romelu Lukaku already move to Stamford Bridge, he is dreaming of doing the same.
The youngster told Het Nieuwsblad: “I’m disappointed in the attitude of Genk, I do not want any controversy, but I’m disappointed in the attitude of Genk. Chelsea was a very nice offer, the club wanted me to stay for one year in Genk.
“I hope it still goes on, because this is a dream for me. I wanted to give everything for one year in Genk and with a good feeling to say goodbye to the club and the supporters.”
De Bruyne’s agent Patrick de Koster continues to work on a possible move but knows he is battling against the clock to get both sides to agree a fee.
It will be interesting to see if the Blues do get their third Belgium …
