Pastore Gone … AVB Takes a Cautious Approach to Transfers

published :

Zamparini told ‘Radio Radio’ this morning that Palermo had agreed a fee of €43 million with PSG for the transfer of Pastore, this means the Argentine simply has to agree personal terms with the French club and he will join them.

I expect PSG to officially announce their signing today…

We may have lost out on Pastore but I’m not worried, I believe if we wanted him badly then we would have signed him. Remember, we signed Torres in January for a record fee because we wanted him badly. PSG valued Pastore more than us and they showed it by placing a higher bid than us – It is that simple.

I have examined Villas-Boas’ attitude to the transfer market since he arrived at Chelsea, I don’t think he believes in big money signings or marquee players. When Villas-Boas was quizzed on Chelsea’s offer of £22million offer for Modric, he simply said: “We respect whatever position Tottenham takes, and the prices we are talking about is an incredible amount of money.”

Villas-Boas first signing of the season has been Oriol Romeu for £5million, he has already stated that he sees Romeu standing in for Essien when we could have easily signed Vidal for £17 million to challenge Essien for first team. I doubt many fans believe that a £5 million signing can fit in Essien’s role, but Villas-Boas believes the 19-year-old can do it and I have to trust his instincts.

Skysports has linked us with Scott Dann, but new news cropped up that Villas-Boas is hoping Rajkovic is granted a UK working visa. If Rajkovic gets his visa, then we wouldn’t need to sign the Birmingham defender. Villas-Boas is taking a wise approach to his signings, he knows the fans are hungry for a marquee player but if he is going to get us one, it has to be in the right positions. I would not be surprised if we signed one more relatively unknown talent and one reasonably priced marquee player this window.

There are many quality players still available for transfer this window, just a few that come to mind are Sneijder, Modric and Gotze who are still up for grabs. Please, do not fret that we have not signed one yet because there is still more time in the transfer window.

I think that andre was not interested in pastore, the players that is in his mind are still modric,Moutinho and city's A.johnson, others are just like evening news to his ears, thats while he is still dormant in the transfer window. The young man knows exactly what his doing and these players are exactly all chelsea need

who needs pastore modric ect we got sturridge & mcceachran coming thru and when torres finds form they will all be like new players to freshen things up and give more options , maybe buy another winger like hazard mata navas or turan as malouda & anelka are getting older would be handy to have a younger winger also but i would not be worried if we dont buy much as we got a great squad mix of youth & experience

Let us thank the author for the positiveness. Moreover he is right to my mind. They say that Anceloti mainly was fired because of Torres poor performance. The coach has to be really responsible with the signings. I hope we can buy some creative players and substiture for Essien. But Essien can substituted with Ramires or Luiz. First of all creativity or may be a good winger.

Kid was overpriced anyways. We need to target a more affordable player: riccardo montolivo. Before any other team snatches him up we need to get him while we can.

Im so glad we didn't get him he was over priced and useless. A part of me is happy that we are buying young players for cheap and using young players we have already got. However i am guilty of saying yeah we should buy him, him and him. I like what AVB is doing but i believe we should bring in one or two players to give healthy competition in the squad. I think we need to sell malouda and anelka they are past it and now just 100k a week dead wood i would like to see adam johnson come in to give us width and either hazard or as seeing as we missed out on neymar we should go for pato im surprised we haven't been linked with him. As well even though we got that young spanish guy i really believe we should go for jack rodwell there are rumors that he will leave for £20million and i believe thats a bargain for him in this market he can play denfensive midfield, push forward to attacking mid or center back i reckon he would fit into the squad perfectly.
