Following Swansea’s play-off final victory over Reading, there has to be a question whether the Blues sold Scott Sinclair too soon.
The 22-year-old winger will travel with the England U21 squad alongside Michael Mancienne and Jack Cork to Denmark for the European Championships. This follows an excellent season when he scored 27 goals including a hat-trick in the play-off final.
The youngster joined Swansea at the start of the season when he linked-up with former Chelsea reserve team manager Brendan Rodgers. He had previously been sent out on loan to a host of clubs including Birmingham, QPR and Wigan but had only managed one start for the Blues.
At only 22, you have to wonder if the club sold him too early. In his first full league season, he scored an impressive 19 league goals in 39 starts, it will be interesting to see how he fares next season – Should he once again impress then the Chelsea hierarchy will know that this is the case.
Both Mancienne and Cork have spent the last few years on loan at different clubs and could move on during the summer, but after seeing how well Sinclair has done Roman and his team may want to hold off before selling any other youngsters.
